Enrolment

Enrolment

Enrolment is for the Academic Year or the remainder thereof. Students will receive lessons once or twice a week during term time. Lessons are timetabled during school hours on a rotation schedule or after school hours on a fixed schedule.

It remains the responsibility of the student to complete all curriculum work in addition to their music lessons.

Tuition fees are payable per term in advance.

Expectations

We expect each student to have an instrument suitable for their age to practice with. Students are expected to practice daily to benefit from the lessons and reach their goals. Our teachers have many strategies for you to help your child at home and support their musical practice.

Missed lessons/ Student Absence

If a student is sick or unable to attend a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, the parent should inform the teacher by email and copy in the Head of Musiqaa prior to the start of the lesson. Failure to do so will incur the cost of the lesson. Where appropriate notice was given, the teacher will endeavour to provide a make-up lesson. However, this cannot be guaranteed due to scheduling restraints.

When lessons coincide with a school activity, for example sports days, camps, class excursions or tests, it is the responsibility of the parent (or the student in the case of Secondary students) to contact the Instrumental teacher 3 working days before the lesson to arrange a suitable alternate time. Failure to do so will result in the lesson being forfeited and paid for. (No make-up lesson can be offered in this case.)

Lessons missed due to a public holiday (1 day) will be made up by the Instrumental teacher.

If the Instrumental teacher is sick or unable to provide a lesson, they will inform the parent and then provide a make-up lesson or refund.

A maximum of two lessons can be made up per term.

Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances. An administration fee of QR 250 will be applicable to any refund other than those made on medical grounds.

Staff availability/communication

Musiqaa staff is available from Sunday—Thursday 9am—5pm. Communication is expected to be replied to within 3 working days.

Students should arrive on time for lessons and be collected as soon as the lesson time is over. Late arrival time cannot be made up.

Termination of lessons

If a student decides to discontinue lessons, written notice, addressed to the Head of Musiqaa, is required from the parent. This notice should be received at least 3 weeks prior to the end of the last Academic term attended.

Please note that if lessons are terminated part way through the term, the full term’s fees are still payable.

Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances. An administration fee of QR 250 will be applicable to any refund other than those made on medical grounds.
