Chantelle Laubscher, starting her love-affair with music at age 4 through recorder classes taught by her mother, never stopped being involved in some music venture. From a young age she was responsible for children's, adult's as well as senior citizen's choirs and also taught various recorder groups in South Africa, Mozambique, Bahrain and currently in Qatar. Through her passion for music and love for children she has inspired many young children to become musicians. Chantelle was appointed at Doha College to set up a structured Instrumental Programme, as the combination of her tertiary education in Financial Information Systems and experience as a Kindermusik® Business owner were deemed the ideal combination. This was the perfect opportunity make her passion her career through combining her love for children with her love for music. Under her leadership Musiqaa had become a reputed Music Academy in Qatar providing excellent music teaching in a nurturing environment. In addition, Chantelle was also offered, and have taken on, the prestigious role of Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) representative for Qatar.

British pianist Daryoush Salek has enjoyed a wide and varied career as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. He has performed both nationally throughout the United Kingdom as well as internationally. Born in England, to an artistic family, Daryoush began his musical studies at the age of five. He entered the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007 where he studied with the renowned pianist and Skryabin music scholar Simon Nicholls for four years, and further with Victor Sangiorgio, Malcolm Wilson, Robert Markham and Anthony Saunders. He was the recipient of the Winifred Micklam Prize, the Beryl Chempin Beethoven Prize for pianists, and the Renna Kellaway Prize. He has performed in masterclasses to many celebrity artists including Peter Donohoe, Stephen Hough, Mikhail Kazakevich, Andrew Ball and Gordon Fergus-Thompson. In 2011, he continued his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, with Sally-Ann Macleod, and later with Philippe Cassard and Michel Béroff, graduating with a Masters Degree in Solo Piano Performance. He also studied extensively with Michael Dussek, Head of Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music in London, for three years. Daryoush has performed both nationally and internationally including appearances at the Birmingham’s Adrian Boult Hall and Recital Hall, at the Carol Nash Recital Hall and Concert Hall in Manchester, and has collaborated with a wide range of instrumentalists and singers throughout Austria and Poland including chamber ensemble appearances in Vienna, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt and Łódź. Daryoush considers teaching to be a duty for all musicians. He has over eleven years of experience teaching piano performance, accompaniment and chamber music coaching, music theory and conducting aural classes. He enjoys nurturing the talents of many promising young pianists. His students have achieved phenomenal success in recent years in examinations, competitions and public performances, with some pursuing music as a career path. Aside from performing, Daryoush is passionate about musicical education. He was member of the piano faculty at Warwick School, one of the UK’s leading and oldest surviving independent educational establishments, before taking up a full-time Piano Specialist post at Doha College in 2018.
Ms Ilenia Torsello
Ms Ilenia Torsello Woodwind Specialist
Ilenia Torsello is a multi-instrumentalist and has been teaching as Woodwind Specialist at Doha college since 2015. Ilenia started her musical studies with the clarinet in her home country, Italy and received her degrees in the most prestigious Conservatory of the State, Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan. She then won a scholarship to attend the Montclair State University in New Jersey, where she studied with Members of The Metropolitan orchestra. She continued her studies through the Erasmus program at Universität Mozarteum in Austria to complete her Master in Music performance. In 2016 whilst she was working at Doha college, she completed a Master in Music Pedagogy in Switzerland which qualified her as a specialist for the method of teaching. During her career Ilenia performed as a soloist but also in ensemble and in orchestra in Italy, Austria, New Jersey, Switzerland and Germany achieving results and winning competitions. During her education she self-taught the saxophone and the flute and performed in the musical “The beauty and the Beast” in the National Theatre of Milan. Ilenia has also performed around Qatar and is a substitute for the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mr Enrick Adam

“French guitarist Enrick Adam is a professional guitar performer, composer, producer and teacher. For the last 25 years, Enrick has played in some of the world’s most prestigious concert hall and festival such as New York’s Dizzy’s Jazz club at Lincoln Center, London’s Royal Albert Hall, and UK’s Glastonbury Festival. Holder of a Master’s degree in Composition, Enrick is also an active composer working within a range of multi-media such as film, corporate film and dance choreography. Based in Doha since 2013, Enrick is a sought-after guitarist and producer. He performs regularly with Doha Jazz, collaborate with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and performs his own composition with numerous jazz and instrumental ensembles. Enrick has been teaching guitar, drums, vocal and jazz in Doha College since moving to Doha. “
Mr Joel Sharbaugh

Joel Sharbaugh began his musical studies with Dr. Andrew Zohn at the Schwob School of Music in Columbus, GA. Upon receiving his B.M. in Performance in 2012, he enrolled at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland under the direction of Lorenzo Micheli, graduating in 2017 with a M.M. in Performance, and an M.M. in Pedagogy. Together with his academic pursuits, he completed a three year course in composition with Angelo Gilardino in Vercelli, Italy, and intensive studies in Gothic harp and medieval music theory with Sara Mancuso in Venice, Italy. Currently he is working towards his Ph.D. at Middlesex University in London, where he is researching the development of dodecaphonic composition in post-war Italy.

Ms Krisztina Szonda
Ms Krisztina SzondaBrass Specialist
Krisztina Szonda was born in Hungary and attended the Music School in Gyöngyös. Here she commenced on violin, and later specialized in the French Horn. She continued her French Horn and pedagogical studies and completed her Master’s Degree at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. From 1992 – 2008 Krisztina performed in Budapest with Operetta Theatre and the Hungarian State Opera as well as Internationally as the Principal French Horn player in the Kuala Lumpur Symphony Orchestra and a regular guest French Horn Player with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra whilst teaching. Krisztina moved to Qatar in 2008 with her family and performed regularly as a guest French Horn player for the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
